I have an Aus Passport and birth cert, and yet it’s not enough for me to prove my identity in Australia. They want a drivers license or Medicare which I don’t have. What a backwards country.

It'll fall down to around where the Indian passport ranks, because that's who the majority of Australian passport holders will be.

And yet look at the ridiculous price of the Australian passport..... why is everything so ridiculously expensive in Australia.... from properties to groceries, the internet is horrible and expensive, insurance is useless and expensive, and don't get me started on the cost of vets.

Here are three stories from the week that made us smile: (1/3) A rare spotless giraffe was spotted in Namibia, Africa, just weeks after a Tennessee zoo welcomed a similar “solid-colored reticulated” giraffe. The animal seen in Africa is the only one recorded in the wild on the continent, according to a report by CBS. “Each giraffe has a unique pattern, which makes them individually identifiable,” states a report by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Without spots, identification is tricker, but the giraffe spotted at the Mount Etjo Safari Lodge in central Namibia is rare and thus easy to identify. The only other spotless giraffe was recorded in 1972 in Tokyo. (2/3) After being stolen from a Dutch museum three and a half years ago, a Vincent van Gogh painting has been returned to its home, thanks to the work of Arthur Brand, an art detective. “The Parsonage Garden at Nuenen in Spring,” worth up to $6.4 million was delivered to the detective bubble-wrapped and in an IKEA bag, according to reports. The painting was stolen in 2020, on van Gogh’s birthday, and a man named Nils M, was arrested in relation to the theft in 2021. Posing with the painting, Brand announced on his social media platforms, “Vincent van Gogh is back!” Photo: Arthur Brand (3/3) After four years of development, LEGO has announced the sale of Braille Bricks, a set of accessible toys for the sighted and the blind. The bricks are compatible with letters, numbers, and symbols in printed script and braille, to encourage inclusive learning. Until now, the set of braille toys was distributed free of charge but now will be available for sale on their website. “For blind and partially sighted children, and adults for that matter, it makes all the difference if they can share their journey of learning braille with the people they love the most,” Martine Abel-Williamson, President, World Blind Union said about the launch of the toys.
