The Cambodian military was the first to open fire on Thai forces. On the morning of July 24, 2025, the Royal Thai Armed Forces exercised their right to self-defense in response to aggression from the Cambodian military. Cambodian military forces launched an attack on a hospital and a gas station located within Thai territory. The explosion at the gas station was a 7-11 and there were many people inside. The bombings resulted in the death of one student and several civilians. Cambodia also bombed a hospital.
