Hi Jordan, I am curious about this situation. I pay my mortgage 3 months in advance, have done that for years. What happens if my pre-payment is late with the next monthly payment, does the creditor ding our credit report and charge a late fee?

It’s easy to manage if you pay it with your second half of the month check. We pay ours on the 20th for the next month.

We pay our mortgage before the late payment grace period of 15 days, have done it that way the whole time we have had the loan to make sure it’s just the first paycheck of the month and never any issues

Creditors don't give deferments anymore. I had this exact issue and was told "oh well we can waive the late fee." That's all they would do.
