@afroindiequity: By the first month High school students are out of their school supplies and you got parents fight about sending community supply #parents #schoolsupplies #students #teachers
I just don’t understand the individualistic point of view. If my son needs more supplies and his teacher needs more supplies because the class needs more supplies then guess what mommy is buying more supplies if the teacher told me I need 1000 Kleenexes guess what the teacher is getting itif my son’s buddy doesn’t have lunch for School guess what we will give him lunch for school I don’t understand this not all children come from the same resources. It’s OK to share.

When I was in high school, if you wanted a pencil, you had to give your shoe and the only way you got your shoe back at the end of class was giving the pencil back. Also we got written up for damage… is consequence is not a thing anymore?

No we want separation, we want give some donations for the class, BUT we also want to be able to have our own stuff.

I have mixed feelings. I actually listened to teachers and was pretty careful with my stuff as a student, and I remember how crazy other kids were sometimes. like I want a community and to help people, but how do you help kids that intentionally go around breaking things because they think it's funny? like it seems like other people's long-term parenting issues disproportionately affect the whole class.

High school students having their own supplies is their responsibility they are old enough to keep up with their belongings. I’m not supplying school items for other people children. I pick up pencils everyday in the hallway that kids drop and keep them in a cup on my desk for kids to use. To answer your question do I gear myself? Yes, I heard myself every year when my child was in school. I paid for her supplies only AND I made sure that she was well supplied throughout the year. I did backpack checks, she had a closet that I kept supplies in where she could reup when she ran out of something. You can be judgmental as much as you want I did not and will not buy school supplies for other kids. Teach your kids how to take care of their stuff and hold them accountable for it..period

They have launched my pencils into the ceiling as well. It would be one thing if they were ✨️using✨️the pencils. Most students aren't. 🙃

That’s just insane that HIGHSCHOOLERS are doing this.. I just don’t understand why ppl wanna argue about it if you cared about your child education you would not be complaining! They’d be the first to expect you to give them supplies when they break or lose them. I’m so sorry to all the teachers right now 🥺🥺
