Thailand has tried to use peaceful means to negotiate and find a way out, but has not received cooperation from Cambodia. There have been constant provocations and bombings in many areas, causing injuries to Thai soldiers. This morning, the Cambodian soldiers began attacking civilians without regard to humanitarian principles, causing many injuries and deaths. They attacked hospitals and schools, which violates all laws. Why the media only report for Thai war injury? What about my country Cambodia?! They killed our people too, destroyed our temples ! We Cambodian want peace ! Cambodia tried to resolve this through the ICJ ,based on past rulings that already confirmed its sovereignty over temple areas. Thailand refused, rejected the legal process, and instead moved troops and barbed wire into disputed land. That’s not “defense,” that’s provocation. On July 24, Thailand shot our soliders first ,but when one side avoids court and escalates militarily, it’s clear who’s undermining peace. Cambodia acted in self-defense. We call on the international community to condemn Cambodia for its inhumane actions in attacking hospitals and civilian areas in Thailand, which have resulted in numerous injuries and deaths, including among children and youth. The prohibition against attacks on hospitals is a universally recognized principle under international humanitarian law, particularly under the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, which protects civilians and medical facilities during armed conflict. Violations of these principles may constitute war crimes under international law. Furthermore, reports of Cambodia’s use of landmines on Thai territory represent a breach of the Ottawa Treaty (1997), to which both Cambodia and Thailand are signatories. Even in times of war, the most fundamental human rights must be respected.
