Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the authors of the four Gospels

Chris :
The historical literary evidence clearly shows that the authors of the four NT gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Matthew and John were apostles and eyewitnesses of Christ and Mark was a close associate of Peter (an apostle and eyewitness of Christ) and Luke was a close associate of Paul (an apostle and eyewitness of the risen Christ.) There is no historical literary evidence from any one who wrote in the first three centuries of the early church that the gospels were written by later editors or anyone else other than Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The weight of historical literary evidence is on the side of those who believe these men are the authors. It is up to those who believe differently to disprove what the early church fathers said in their writings. The burden of proof is on them not on us who believe in these men as the authors. This evidence also establishes that no Church council decreed that the Gospels were authored by these men. This knowledge was handed down by the churches founded by the apostles from the beginning.

Every newspaper or Qur’an must be burned. Ibn Shihab Al-Zuhri said: Then Kharijah bin Zaid bin Thabit informed me. Zaid bin Thabit heard he said: He said: I lost a verse from Al-Ahzab when we copied the Qur’an. I had been hearing the Messenger of God reciting it, so we searched for it and found it with Khuzaymah bin Thabit Al-Ansari: {Among the believers are men who have been true to what they covenanted with God} so we added it to its surah in the Qur’an. This is also one of the greatest virtues of the Commander of the Faithful, Othman bin Affan. The two sheikhs preceded him in memorizing the Qur’an, so that something would be removed from it, which is to gather people on one reading so that they would not differ in the Qur’an, and all the companions agreed with him on that, but it was narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Masud that he expressed some anger because he was not among those who wrote the Qur’an, and he ordered his companions to bind their Qur’an when Uthman ordered the burning of everything except the Imam’s Qur’an. Then Ibn Masud returned to Al-Wefaq1, until Ali bin2 Abu Talib said: If Uthman had not done that, I would have done it. 1 in “t”: “he says.” 2 in “A”: “in the Qur’an.” 3 The author refers to what was reported by Muslim (2462/114) and the context for it, and Al-Nasa’i in “Al-Fada’il” (22) who said: Ishaq bin Ibrahim Al-Hanzali told us, Abdah bin Sulayman told us, Al-A’mash told us, on the authority of Shaqiq, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Masud said: {And whoever defrauds will bring what he defrauded on the Day of Resurrection} [Al Imran: 161], then he said: Who do you order me to recite upon? I recited to the Messenger of God seventy-some surahs, and the companions of the Messenger of God knew that I was the most knowledgeable of them in the Book of God, and if I had known that someone was more knowledgeable than me, I would have gone to him. Shaqiq said: So I sat in the circle of Muhammad’s companions and I did not hear anyone say that to him or criticize him. Narrated by Ibn Abi Dawud, p. 16.

In this refutation I will be refuting an argument that muslims use to prove that the Bible is corrupted. So the argument is that the absence of the adulterous woman in the Bible earliest 2 manuscripts such as the Vodex Vaticanus, Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Alexandrinus thus the Bible is corrupted. The book and chapter of this passage can be found in John 8:3-11. Its true the codex sinaiticus starts from verse 12 not verse 1 of the chapter but this doesnt prove that the passage is added in later books and its an argument from silence to say otherwise.

ABROGATED VERSES ARE STILL PART OF THE QURAN Muslims will often claim that these missing verses, passages that have completely vanished from the codices, are nothing other than the abrogated texts of the Quran whose rulings are no longer applicable. The first problem with this assertion is that no Muslim definitely knows this to be the case, since there is ample evidence that whole surahs and passages disappeared which had not been abrogated. Secondly, where does the Quran state to expunge verses which have been annulled, and where did Muhammad command his followers to remove them? In fact, Muslim scholars candidly admit that there are abrogated texts which are still a part of the Quran till this day! Finally, and more importantly, one of the four men whom Muhammad instructed to learn the Quran from, Narrated Masruq: ‘Abdullah bin Masud was mentioned before Abdullah bin ‘Amr who said, “That is a man I still love, as I heard the Prophet saying, ‘Learn the recitation of Quran from four from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud –he started with him–Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudaifa, Mu’adh bin Jabal and Ubai bin Ka’b.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 153 https://sunnah.com/bukhari:3808) Masruq reported: We used to go to Abdullah b. ‘Amr and talk to him, Ibn Numair said: One day we made a mention of Abdullah b. Mas’ud, whereupon he said: You have made mention of a person whom I love more than anything else. I heard Allah’s Messenger as saying: Learn Qur’an from four persons: Ibn Umm ‘Abd (i. e. ‘Abdullah b. Mas’ud) he started from him-then Mu’adh b. Jabal and Ubayya b. Ka’b, then Salim the ally of Abu Hudhaifa. (Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 6024 https://sunnah.com/muslim:2464a) Masruq reported: We were in the company of Abdullah b ‘Amr that we made a mention of a hadith from Abdullah b. Mas’ud; thereupon he said: That is a person whose love ever remains (fresh in my heart) after I heard Allah’s Messenger as saying: Learn Qur’an from four persons: Ibn Umm ‘Abd, i.e. Abdullah b. Mas’ud and he started from his name-then Ubayy b. Ka’b and Mu’adh b Jabal. Zuhri did not make a mention of the words yaquluhu in his narration. (Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 6025

Perhaps the greatest amount written by Muslims in this field concerns the development of the human embryo. Many verses describe how we originate from a drop of semen which gushes forth (sura 53:46) from ‘between the backbone and the ribs’ (sura 86:7). Muslims claim that the totally false idea that sperm is produced somewhere in the region of the backbone refers to the site of embryological development of the testes which is close to the kidneys – although there is no possibility of this interpretation in the context. In fact the Greek physician Hippocrates taught 1000 years before Muhammad that semen passes through the region of the kidneys and spine. Other verses say that we develop in four stages – a drop of semen, a blood-clot, a piece of chewed flesh and a stage in which bones are clothed with flesh (sura 22:5, sura 23:13). In trying to identify precise points in human development that these stages relate to, Muslim scientists have totally overlooked the fact that Galen, writing at Pergamun in Turkey (Rev 2:12) in AD 150 claimed that humans go through these four stages of development. Other examples could be given from the Qur’an and the Hadith (sayings of Muhammad) which have been twisted to try to show them saying things which have only recently been discovered. In every single case it has been conclusively demonstrated that not only were these things originally taught by the ancient Greeks, but that they were actually well known to the people in Arabia at the time of Muhammad. Far from proving that the Qur’an is divinely inspired, they provide further evidence that it had human origins.

So sorry, according to Chat GTP the Bible is authentic, While there are minor errors in the translations, the message and meaning are preserved. It is the same in the Quran teanslations. On the other hand, since the Quran was not a complete book and was created after the death of Muhammad, verses could have been added that Muhammad never said. Since the Muhammad was illiterate, various people only testified to what he said. So the Quran contains alleged unconfirmed oral testimonies.

You tell us about Mark, Paul, Luke and Mathew not seeing Jesus and hence their books don’t covey the true revelation; while you glorify Bukhara, Muslim and others who where born two centuries after the prophet and swear by their secondhand hearsay anecdotes to be the words of the prophet! MUCH OF THE QURAN IS LOST According to one report by the son of the second caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, the present text of the Quran is incomplete since much of it has disappeared: `Abdullah b. `Umar reportedly said, ‘Let none of you say, “I have got the whole of the Qur’an.” How does he know what all of it is? MUCH OF THE QUR’AN HAS GONE. Let him say instead, “I have got what has survived.”‘ (Jalal al Din `Abdul Rahman b. Abi Bakr al Suyuti, al-Itqan fi `ulum al-Qur’an, Halabi, Cairo, 1935/1354, Volume 2, p. 25) Said Abu ‘Ubaid: Isma’il b. Ibrahim related to us from Ayyub from Nafi‘ from Ibn ‘Umar who said – Let none of you say, “I have learned the whole of the Koran,” for how does he know what the whole of it is, WHEN MUCH OF IT HAS DISAPPEARED? Let him rather say, “I have learned what is extant thereof.” (Kitab Fadail-al-Qur’an, as cited in Ibn Warraq, Origins of the Koran – Classic Essays on Islam’s Holy Book [Prometheus Books, Amherst, NY 1998], Part Two: The Collections and the Variants of the Koran, 9. Abu ‘Ubaid on the Verses Missing from the Koran, by Arthur Jeffery, p. 151: bold and capital emphasis mine) One of the early Sunni scholars Qasim bin Salam (d. 222 H) records: حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم ، عن أيوب ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، قال : « لا يقولن أحدكم قد أخذت القرآن كله وما يدريه ما كله ؟ قد ذهب منه قرآن كثير ، ولكن ليقل : قد أخذت منه ما ظهر منه Ismail bin Ibrahim narrated from Ayub from Naf’ee from Ibn Umar who said: ‘Verily among you people one would say that he has found the Quran whilst he is unaware of what the total quantity of the Quran was, because most of the Quran has been lost. Rather one should say that verily he has found the Quran that has appeared.’ Ismail bin Ibrahim: Dahabi said: ‘Hujja’ (Al-Kashif, vol. 1, p. 242), Ibn Hajar said: ‘Thiqah’ (Taqrib al-Tahdib, vol. 1 p. 90). Ayub al-Sekhtiani: Dahabi said: ‘The master of scholars’ (Siar alam alnubala, vol. 6, p. 15), Ibn Hajar said: ‘Thiqah Thabt Hujja’ (Taqrib al-Tahdib, vol. 1, p. 116). Naf’ee: Dahabi said: ‘The Imam of Tabayeen’ (Al-Kashif, vol. 2, p. 315), Ibn Hajar said: ‘Thiqah Thabt’ (Taqrib al-Tahdib, vol. 2, p. 239). (Fadhail al-Quran by Qasim bin Salam, Volume 2 p.

Muhammad’s god states that women are a field which men own and can plow into however and whenever they like: Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will; but do some good act for your souls beforehand; and fear God. And know that ye are to meet Him (in the Hereafter), and give (these) good tidings to those who believe. S. 2:223 Y. Ali Allah also made men superior to women, which is why husbands are allowed to beat their wives whom they fear will be rebellious: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great. S. 4:34 Shakir The Islamic deity even permits his jihadists to not only murder in his cause, but also to take single and married women captive and essentially rape them: Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess. Thus has Allah ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage) with Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal sexual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed; but if after a Mahr is prescribed, you agree mutually (to give more), there is no sin on you. Surely, Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. S. 4:24 Hilali-Khan

The Quran erroneously claims that semen issues forth from around the kidney area of man: So let man consider from what he is created. He is created from a gushing fluid That issued from between the loins and ribs. S. 86:5-7 Pickthall The late Dr. William F. Campbell explained why this is an egregious blunder as he responded to the deliberate misinterpretation of this text by Dr. Maurice Bucaille in his attempt to make the Quran fit with modern scientific discoveries: The third and biggest problem, though, is that, unlike the Bible, the Qur’an uses the word “sulb” for loins in a verse which won’t allow a euphemistic interpretation. In the Early Meccan Sura of the Night-visitant (Al-Tariq) 86:5-7, it reads, “Now let man think from what he is created! He is created from a gushing fluid that issues from between the loins (sulb) and ribs (tara’ib).” Here we find that Man is made from a “gushing fluid that issues from the adult father during the “now” of the reproductive act, from a specific physical place “between the loins and the ribs.” (other translations have backbone instead of loins) Since the verse is speaking of the moment of adult reproduction it can’t be talking about the time of embryonic development. Moreover, since “sulb” is being used in conjunction with “gushing fluid”, which can only be physical; and “tara’ib” which is another physical word for chest or thorax or ribs, it can’t be euphemistic. Therefore, we are left with the very real problem that the semen is coming from the back or kidney area and not the testicles. Dr. Bucaille, as a physician recognizes this problem only too well, so he wiggles and squirms (as he accuses the Christian commentators of doing) and finally after quoting the verse as we have seen it translated above says, “This would seem more to be an interpretation than a translation. It is hardly comprehensible“.[4] This is the second time he has called the Qur’an obscure or hardly comprehensible when there was a problem.
