If they drop a type R prelude I imagine it’ll have more HP, 6 speed, and probably be full gas not hybrid. If this happens it would justify the hybrid prelude. Bc at that point it would give people options and I think the more casual drivers would enjoy the hybrid while enthusiasts get the type r version. Will Honda do this? As of rn I’m not too sure with how they’ve been over the past years.

If it’s truly based on the type r chasis then we we probably be getting a si version that lineups in between the civic type r and civic si. People or way to quick to negatively react to things like this.

the car is actually sick. compared to a brz. this car is cheaper, more efficient, only slightly slower, and more reliable. it only looks a little overpriced compared to the civic hybrid. you lose 2 doors/get less room and you pay more for it. that interior better be so nice.

I think people forget the original cars were all Frankensteins of each other. the prelude and accord were almost 1/1 on 90% of parts. so what if it's a civic. you'll save on repairs and parts with it being common

I think this will be Honda’s biggest failure. The visual is not aggressive. The power is lacking very underwhelming visually I think when you’re Honda prelude you’re hoping for something a little bit more.

Been with my FL4 hybrid Civic for just over four months. The powertrain is smooth and powerful, and I really enjoy the drive. I love the Prelude coupe’s looks, but I’m not too sure if a FL4 owner would be enticed to change since the powertrain and interior is the same. I was hoping to be at least 2.5L hybrid instead of the same 2.0L. 🤔 maybe wait for the next Prelude facelift 😬
