I quite literally had a hysterectomy and people do that. "you'll regret it!" actually Cheryl, i no longer deal with devastating endometriosis, I regret nothing.

The number of times people have said this kind of stuff to me. The worst for me was, "when you hold your first born you'll change your mind." IM NOT GOING TO HAVE A KID JUST TO SEE IF I WANT KIDS! oy....

I never understood why people get upset over others not wanting kids. I have two, myself, and get why some people don’t want them. (I love my kids dearly, btw).

The number of times I’ve heard “oh it’s not too late” when I tell someone I can’t have kids and now don’t want them anyway because I’m too old. Like, ma’am. I am almost 46. No, thank you.

Having kids so you have a caretaker when you’re old sounds like a pretty selfish reason to have kids. But, what do I know? I’m also a childless by choice 37 year old woman.

bro i keep telling people i never want to be pregnant bc i have so many physical problems and chronic illnesses and i know it would take a massive toll on my body and mind, but they just say “oh you may change your mind one day.” TF I WILL, LIKE?

I adore my kids (all grown), but I fully support people who don't want to! It's not a difficult concept, but some people just can't wrap their minds around people who have different life paths.

My mom and I have this conversation every so often. As her only child, I'm her only opportunity to have grandkids. However, not even considering the fact that I've held stern on not wanting kids but I have a condition that has me on meds that I would have to stop taking if I wanted to be pregnant, probably making my condition worse between being pregnant and not being able to take my meds...but she wants a grandchild...and to that I've said well, you should have had more than one child.

My daughter doesn't want to bring a child into this world as it is. More to the point, her partner can't carry and my daughter is too concerned that mine and her own chronic conditions might be inheritable and we don't know it yet, along with all the ones we know are. I have always made it clear that any way she expands our family, whether partners, fostering, adopting, biological, randomly absorbing people into our family because they need a family, or fur covered family members will be loved and accepted.
