I made a correction to a black female sergeant in the National guard about her hair. I literally showed her in the regulation and showed an image that the Army put out as what are unauthorized hairstyles for females. I was immediately called a racist and then I was biased because I don't understand black people's hair. I explained that I did not write the regulation and that the hairstyles were agreed upon by a panel of women of different colors and different ranks. Even when I showed clearly in black and white and an image of what the unauthorized hairstyle was, it did not matter and I was still being called racist and biased. They proceeded to say that we just hate black people for no reason. Coincidentally, I saw that the Sergeant Major da-4856 had made a post about her hair saying it was out of regulation as well and she is a black female. We've gotten to a point that if you're white and you're making correction on a black soldier than the immediate reaction is that you're racist or biased. I didn't write the regulations. I just enforced the standard.
