Had a similar incident happen to me recently. Was soldering on an old palm pad and all of a sudden I heard a loud bang. Saw a huge cloud of smoke and solder flew everywhere. I think it’s something with the flux they use but I could be wrong.

why not use a cr2477 battery holder instead of spot welding it and soldering it back to the board
