@unpluggedmoments: Why are 23-year-old men “interested” in girls still in high school? I’m sorry, but that’s not mature, it’s opportunistic. #agegap #isthisok #olderboyfriend #parentreaction #highschooldating #momtalk #teendaughter #17and23 #sotrytime #churchboy
Stage of life gap is a great way to put it! My husband and I are almost 5 years apart, but we didn’t even meet til we were 28 and 32 and in similar stages of life

Fathers are naturally overprotective. I would not tolerate that age gap either.

He’s a 23 yr old man he shouldn’t be interested in a 17 yr old girl he’s not being over protective there’s a possibility that when he turns 30 he’d still be interested in 17 yr old girls

no she is still in school a child not a adult yet. If he truly is respect her he would wait tell she is out of school and let her find her own self. not have a man make her be what he wants her to be.

My oldest met her husband when she was 14 and he was 18. Both families said no. When she was 18 we went to a cookout at her hubby's dad's house and now they are married and have 2 kids. Waiting isnt a bad thing.

If he truly cares and wants to be together, he should wait till she's in her 20s (minimum 20). And honestly, an adult wanting to be with a minor, while they are a minor, is a huge red flag for me, regardless of the rare unicorn where the relationship works out in the
end

My husband was 24 and I was 16. He lived with his mom. He had a job and paid her rent to help her out. My dad was Leary of the situation. He talked with him and we had strict rules. We have been married 38 years.

Nope. She needs to turn 18 first, go to college & enjoy her peer friendships. Once she meets boys her own age & of the same mindset (future focused), she’ll forget about him.

My husband is 15 years older than me. I asked him if he had met me when I was 18 and he was 33 would he have dated me and he said, “No, that’s gross!”

what is wrong with him that he can't get someone his own age. He really just wants someone to control. She needs to listen to daddy.

No, dad is right. I was 16 he was 20. We ended up together until he passed almost 40 years later. But I now realize I missed out on my teenage years and early 20’s.

I was in the same situation when I was younger. I’m now 55 yrs old. We married when I was 18/ he 24. We divorced in less than 2 yrs. My father didn’t like it either but once I turned 18 he couldn’t stop me. My lesson learned!!
