My oldest met her husband when she was 14 and he was 18. Both families said no. When she was 18 we went to a cookout at her hubby's dad's house and now they are married and have 2 kids. Waiting isnt a bad thing.

If he truly cares and wants to be together, he should wait till she's in her 20s (minimum 20). And honestly, an adult wanting to be with a minor, while they are a minor, is a huge red flag for me, regardless of the rare unicorn where the relationship works out in the end

No, dad is right. I was 16 he was 20. We ended up together until he passed almost 40 years later. But I now realize I missed out on my teenage years and early 20’s.

I was in the same situation when I was younger. I’m now 55 yrs old. We married when I was 18/ he 24. We divorced in less than 2 yrs. My father didn’t like it either but once I turned 18 he couldn’t stop me. My lesson learned!!
