I’m Utahn and proud. I will not feel guilt for my heritage nor my ancestors who have built one of the cleanest, safest and culturally prosperous places in the world from the ground up. Those who feel ashamed can leave and come back when they are better at war 🫵🤡

In 1847, Utah was owned by Mexico, but it was not occupied by Mexico. The Saints didn't become Mexicans, nor did they seek or obtain legal Mexican status, so they were actually not immigrants at all. They were refugees fleeing persecution. Nothing more

my Mormon family and ancestors tried SO hard to hide any Mexican heritage we have. there are no names listed on the tree, just John Does from Mexico. Whenever I ask about it I get told we aren't until grandma spilt the tea and confirmed it via DNA testing.

Please talk about the Mountain Meadow Massacre. I’m Northern Ute/Oglala Lakota and it’s not just the US gov. going after our lands. The State of Utah has broken MANY treaties and we are still fighting till this day.

Before it was Mexican territory, it was Ute, Shoshone, Paiute, and Goshute land. Mexico never made any settlements there.

I saw a comment that said “The Mexicans never claimed that territory either.” NAURR Mexico has a notoriously respected indigenous tribes and their original settlements.. they never “claimed” their territory out of fear. They respected their land.
