My sister is an elementary school art teacher and they give her only a 200$ budget to get art supplies for all classes that visit her she has to use her own money from her budget to buy stuff and it’s so frustrating

first of all, where did you get your cup because I absolutely love it! Secondly, i agree 100%. our elementary/middle school supplies their students with the basics for school supplies (we live in a rural area so the get grants for that), so when my bonus daughter would start school I'd spend what I thought i was going to spend on school supplies on supplies for the classroom. the GOOD tissues, Clorox wipes, giant bottles of hand sanitizer, that kind of stuff. now my bonus kiddo is in high-school and they dont do that (completely ok), but i got a little one starting pre-k and I'll be doing that again. I don't understand why some people dont understand that teachers are over worked, underpaid and under appreciated. a lot of what's in the classroom comes out of their own pocket.

ill give everything they want if they take my kids for 8 hours a day... I work nights i need a few hours of sleep. lol..... but also I do put names on things.

Usually teachers want names on things that will be returned home that might go back-and-forth like a lunchbox, a backpack things like that

I’m a school nurse. The other nurse and I split the cost of making seizure bags for kids this upcoming year because the teachers like them so much and we won’t have enough for all of our students this year. It’s not just that we are underfunded, it’s that it feels impossible to get the funds we are supposed to have access too.

I put my son‘s name on everything that is brought into the school not because it’s for him I mean, obviously it is and we know that they share in the classroom but because I don’t wanna get an email four weeks into school saying well you never brought in this this this and that pieces of supplies and I need you to bring them in or you’re going to get finalized and charged or whatever because it was never suppliedWe’re not playing that game here cause I take video proof of everything that was turned into the school because I’m not getting extra fees and I’m not buying extra supplies.
