Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated publicly: ‘What we are doing in Gaza is a war of devastation – indiscriminate, boundless, cruel and criminal killing of civilians, resulting from government policy, carried out deliberately and irresponsibly. Israel is committing war crimes.’ Anyone who supports such a state policy – whether actively or by remaining silent – is not neutral; they have chosen the side of inhumanity. Germany, too, must ask itself how long it will continue to align with this course. Unconditional support, despite these crimes being openly acknowledged, carries moral responsibility.
