My middle brother and I used to be very close. That ended when I divorced his best friend for physical and emotional abuse. When I went nc with my parents and other brother he sided with them. I’m low contact with him talking maybe 2-3 times a year and I’m ok with it.

The only consolation and my greatest comfort is that my only younger brother loves me and empathizes with me. He acknowledges my hurt and while he maintains a relationship with my mom, he does a good job keeping me in his life and caring for my well being.. i don’t expect him to fight for me because he does so much for me outside my parents’ control and knowledge. I don’t miss my parents cuz he is enough family for me. He is especially sweet to my kids…and his wife also, she is the one who helped him understand what my mom is. I am so grateful we have a great relationship. I know many siblings don’t unfortunately.

Such a great way to explain this. I think people fall into this when they don’t want to be exposed., or to have others see their past, as well. Sometimes keeping their head in the sand and denying the truth, makes them think that never happened or it’s not true.

my mother definitely pitted my brother and I against each other. he could never escape her clutches. I feel bad I ran and left him behind. we finally started to reconnect after she passed, but he ended up taking his life. I blame her for that. 💔💔💔
