Anyone who wants a social media account should be able to get one but if you want to be able to interact and leave comments or message anyone you should have to prove your identity and go through checks - like matching photo id to your face when you set it up - exactly how banks create accounts without going into a branch these days. Anyone who wants a fake account is a troll and it would just do away with so much hate. Anyone who is abusive would be able to be traced and it would deter most people. There are ways of fixing this issue, social media platforms just need to do better
