Access to toilets is a basic human right. I can not understand how this continues to happen. Our children deserve so much more than this.

Happened to my daughter when she was in primary school. She had bad belly and was refused to go to the toilet. I found out about it at the end of the day when picking her up. My daughter was really upset. This happened two days in a row. Same teacher involved both days. Needles to say when I came to school help came with. Now in secondary school all the toilets are locked.

my daughter started her periods at 9. she was forced to bleed all through her uniform and on to her chair because her teacher refused to let her go to the toilet - despite letting other kids go. I made a point of talking to her after class the next day and I wasn't very polite about it - i asked her how, as a woman, would she had felt? I also told her my daughter has MY permission to go, and if there is a problem, to speak to me.

I don’t understand how adults can treat children like this and get away with it. I’m autistic and bathroom access was difficult for me I couldn’t go if others was around so would only go in lesson. It would cause any issues with The refused.

How are parents in England allowing this? TAKE ALL YOUR KIDS OUT OF THE SCHOOLS THIS IS HAPPENING IN. !!!!
Regardless of weather it has happened to your child, the fact it happened in YOUR childs school.!! you wouldn't put your toddler into a creche thats known for neglect /ab%se , why leave your child in a primary/secondary school were neglect/ab%se is going on !

I hate teachers. Iv a few problems with my son at the moment. His head of year left me messages. The tone in her voice was horrible. If she can talk to me like that, what are they talking to our children like. Disgusting. Keep doing what you’re doing xx

How can it be that now toilets are locked when even 25 years ago people bunked in toilets but never locked. Classrooms and corridors or main doors never locked, why now? Whats wrong with teachers, can’t be humans!

How did we get here? In the 50s/60s it wasn't an issue. Very occasionally a pupil would put their hand up and get immediate permission to leave the class & be back in a few minutes. Were there incidents where pupils were asking one after the other & be gone a long time - just to wind-up the teacher? So clamping down on that - to the extremes that other posts have stated.

my daughter is 9 and suffers from UTIs due to her autism she needs prompts to go to the toilet and prompts to drink. she was told by dinner staff that she wasn't aloud to use the toilet and teachers wouldn't let her go to the toilet , so when can she go then ? I emailed them because I was told at her SEN meeting she would always have access to the toilets and her drink as part of her care plan .

I would sue him, I have anxiety with diarrhoea which is a nightmare, because a teacher once stopped me from using toilet . I didn’t even soil myself but the fear ruined my whole life . I can’t imagine how this poor child feels . Wouldn’t be surprised if he has PTSD

I’m a grown woman but I too recently had the most horrible stomach bug that seemed to appear from nowhere. Thankfully I was home because when I say exploding bottom, I literally had no control over this, I’m talking 2 seconds warning. This can happen to any of us at any age. This poor child 🥰
