i don’t even need there to be an equal ratio of men, i just need them to put some actual effort in. instead of just throwing them out, barely putting any effort into a kit, story, etc, then calling it a day. like i can promise men would sell pretty decently if you, yknow, gave them the chance to 😭

For me as a bi woman I agreed with me and even was one of those who asked for more males, but it genuinely became so annoying when they keep crying for men and hating on every single new female, in EVERY SINGLE POST they would say “where men?” They ignore everything in the game itself and just say “where men?” Like it’s genuinely annoying as h3ll, like I want to talk about the story or about the combat and all I hear is “where men?” Plus, “Phainon sold well” why are you complaining the sales of a game that has 30 million monthly players to wuwa which has only 10 million monthly players?

listen i love women but that doesn’t mean i don’t want men? like yeah wuwa has more than some games like that but they have zero depth in most of their male characters. im not asking for equal but maybe a 1:2 or something similar. i wouldnt care AS much if they had more depth to their characters but as they really dont it’s getting annoying in the sense that when they give a man they’re like “here you wanted a man here” but give the barest character kinda deal.

thing is; male characters sale WAY better than female characters. not in wuwa since there's barely any, but in many other games. example: genshin's top three nod-krai characters in jp are the three male characters. scara sold extremely well. i don't get it, why companies deliberately choose to make less male characters, when they sell better a lot of times

this would be less of an issue if these games just straight out say "this is a all female cast game there will be no male playable characters". but nope they continue to edge on thier player base that started the game due to the male cast.

Honestly it just comes down to a target audience. Whether you like it or not Kuro is catering wuwa to male players and this goes for most gachas except for hsr off the top of my head but i don’t think hsr is targeted to men. There isn’t anything wrong with having a target audience which is why i don’t consider a lack of male characters in wuwa a critism

Male characters sell extremely well, especially in the Western player base. it's just unfortunate that there's a lot of people who riot every time a man is shown and cannot control themselves, like the real life murders of kittens who resembled Scaracat when he was shown to be playable. Some sides of the fandom are genuinely insane, but I wish that didn't slow down the stream of hot men 😔

REALL, the ratio from women to men in games (specifically looking at Hoyo and such), is actually insane like I swear there’s barley any men and everytime a new character is released it’s usually a woman 🥀 like I wouldn’t mind if it was actually equal instead of it just being consistently women, and usually the excuse they make up is “oh you just want to goon to the men” like what??? Maybe I just want more male characters for a change because I’m tired of more “waifus” being added almost every damn time?? 😭 just want a change bro, people are so weird

i think there should be more male characters!! my issue though comes from the fact that most of the time the people who complain about the lack of male characters turn around and say the most unnecessarily hatful things about the female characters that it just comes across as misogyny. and the things those people say are down right vile half the time. thats my biggest issue.
