Honestly I don’t think accents are a big deal as long as you can be understood. I’d much rather a conversation with a heavy accent over pronouncing sandwich perfectly

He’s speaking Spanish with a heavy American accent. Sounds weird to us but it’s no different from someone speaking English with a very heavy Spanish accent. But apparently we have no problem with that. Jesus, I’m trying to learn and kudos to him.

As a Texas girl who has grown up around the Hispanic culture, I still get made fun of bc this is what my Hispanic friends hear when I try to speak panic, and I think I’m adding the accent and everything 🤣

I can’t stand when everyone has something to say about English speakers not adapting to the accent of Spanish, but every Spanish speaker I know just learning English doesn’t adapt to the accent for a long time.
