They absolutely had the right to remove him from the car for non-compliance, but the assault was absolutely insane

This is a good one to cover part of this :The Objective Test and the Reasonable Officer The Court stated, “The reasonableness of a particular use of force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight.” The objective test requires the court to envision a reasonable officer and ask: Based on the totality of the facts and circumstances, could such an officer believe that the force was reasonable?

you left out something very important. two different cops failed to mention the punch to the face. it was left out of the police reports by the officer that punched him and the officer that witnessed it. they knew they were wrong and they lied.

The punches against him are a lottery ticket. I’m 100% pro police but honestly the cop broke the law

Punching him on the face multiple times cannot be defended especially since he didn’t present any physical danger to them. The fact is if it was a blond pretty female none of this would have happened. And this is why it’s the violation of his civil rights

I love how the cops yell out stop resisting even though he's doing nothing. They are literally trained to say that so they can argue the person was resisting.

What is the legality of one of the officers turning off his body camera (seen in the footage) right before they start the physical violence?

Camera shows no rain, fog, etc for the need of headlights being on. It’s also between 4:05-4:15 pm, so twilight hours don’t come into play. So it is an illegal stop. Everything after the stop is illegal. Pretty cut and dry.

agreed. I knew the cops had the right to pull him over him and use lawful commands. this man did not show any forceful resistance or provide any threat before or during his arrest. non-compliance does not necessarily give officers the right to escalate with punches and kicks. let's hope their internal investigation doesn't end without consequences.
