Everyone needs to accept the relo. Take it, even if you don’t follow through with it. Make them figure out how to pay for relo of 2000 people…somewhere between $200 and $300,000,000. Don’t let them off without making them do the work.

Only 20% of the federal government works in DC. The rest of them are already spread out. 🤦🏼♀️

Reorg of this magnitude would require congressional approval. Can’t just use lapsed salaries to pay for employee relocation. That would go against the anti-deficiency act. Also congress needs to be notified if more than 5 employees are re-orged or relocated from an area it’s in the appropriations language as a general provision

Closer to what people? Raleigh is in the South Region and is literally NO WHERE near the majority of the people served in that region.

The USDA shouldn't be located anywhere but the heartland where the FARMS ARE.

Would the agency be required to at least provide severance to an employee that refused an out of state forced relocation job offer?

hello :
I'm with usda in oregon. our regional office is in California. do you know if it's only DC people having to relocate or will it be regional offices having to close down and move to these hubs too? we are graders in plants for food safety, hard to move states away and still serve these farms locally
