Genetics can play a part but 9 times out of 10 it’s diet and not genetics. Just throwing that out there for people whole blame genetics and give their kids gummy snacks, gummy vitamins, and anything to drink that’s not water.

Unfortunately the dental genetics in my family are absolute garbage. My three year old has perfect teeth and always has and I just found two cavities 😩 we brush twice a day.

A lot of it is parents giving their children juice in sippy cups or milk in bottles right before they go to sleep. Regardless of how often you brush those things are very damaging to their teeth.

When my niece stayed with me, I made her brush each night. She asked if I would brush my teeth with her. Sis, scoot over let's do it. She didn't fuse once I did it with her.

As someone who’s autistic who’s parents did this, IF your kid is autistic try to make it fun with the cool tooth brushes and toothpaste. As 23yr I’ve had four teeth pulled because the taste and texture of brushing my teeth make me physically ill. Finally gave up on using adult toothbrush’s and tooth paste because I want my real teeth so I went and bought my a fun older kid toothbrush and cinnamon toothpaste (love cinnamon gum) and finally feel safe too. And before this I used the 2yrs tooth brushes because they were the only ones that didn’t make me gag.

Some kids just have weak teeth because of genetics. You can do everything right & they still get cavities 🤷🏼♀️

luckily my 3 yr old loves to brush his teeth! I'm super blessed there cause my 11yr old is like pulling teeth including taking a shower. ugh

4 year old with 2 cavities in the back. We brush 3 times daily and use mouthwash at night AND she has one dead tooth in the front from a fall at daycare and goes to the dentist twice a year for cleanings. Struggling on an uphill battle with her little toothies.

hi momma can you please drop the routine of teeth brushing?,my baby I brush his teeth at 10PM because that is the usual time he goes to sleep,but at 2,3 or 4AM he wakes up for milk

My daughter has dental hypoplasia. Has had 3 cavities so far at 3 years old despite severely limiting sugary/acidic foods/drinks. Also brush, floss, use mouthwash after she eats or drinks anything but water, nightly fluoride topical, and dentist visits every 6 months. I have hypoplasia too and my entire mouth is crowned plus 2 teeth pulled at 34 because of it. Sometimes genetics makes your teeth just suck no matter what you do.
