*UPDATE* A Florida man has been sentenced to 21 life terms in the case involving the abûse and dèath of 13-year-old Madeline Soto. On Monday, Stephan Sterns, the former boyfriend of Madeline’s mother, pleaded no contest to műrder and guilty to several other charges related to the s*xual abúse and stràngùlation of the teen The pleas were entered in a Kissimmee courtroom as part of a plea agreement reached in close coordination with Madeline’s family. “The individual responsible has been sentenced to 21 concurrent life sentences and will never walk free again. He has also waived all of his rights to appeal, ensuring finality and sparing the family from reliving this trauma in courtrooms for years to come,” State Attorney Monique Worrell said in a statement. **************************************************** *TW: Child deªth and Possible S/A* Date: Reported Missing Feb 26th, 2024 – Found March 1st, 2024 Location: Missing in Orange County, Florida – Found in Osceola County, Florida Victim: Madeline Soto (13) Perpetrator: Stephan Sterns (37) Cred: Fox35/ClickOrlando/USAToday On February 26th, Jennifer Soto, went to Hunter's Creek Middle School to pick up her daughter, Madeline Soto. However, she was told her daughter never showed and immediately reported her daughter missing. The teen was last seen with Jennifer's boyfriend, Stephan Sterns, who was supposed to take Madeline to school. During the investigation into Madeline's disappearance, police searched Stephan's phone, and found disturbing s*xual images of ch!ldren; some of which he attempted to delete. This gave cause for an arrest and Stephan was taken into custody. During questioning, Stephan told police he dropped Madeline off in front of a preschool, an hour before her classes began. Of course, this made no sense to authorities. Of course, this made no sense to authorities. On March 1st, a press conference was held where authorities stated they believed Madeline was k!lled at her home between February 25th and February 27th. Surveillance footage showed Stephan throwing "items" into their apartment's dumpster, where Madeline's book bag and laptop would later be retrieved. What's even more disturbing is the footage they found of Madeline inside Stephan's car, "we have evidence that shows Stephan Sterns returning to the complex, and Madeline was visible in that vehicle. We believe she was already deªd at that time." Later that day, Madeline's bødy was found "in a grassy, wooded area off Old History Tree Road," changing the missing investigation into a hømicide. Stephan's car was allegedly seen in that area on February 26th after sustaining a flat tire. The cause of Madeline's deªth has not been released. On March 12th, Stephen was charged with s*xual battery, leŵd and lªscivious m*lestation, and unlawful pøssession of materials depicting s*xual performances by a ch!ld. Court records "implied" that Stephan may have ªbused Madeline years before her disappearance. On April 24th, Stephan was charged with first-degree můrder for the deªth of Madeline. If convicted, he faces the deªth penalty.
