@cockpitking: Airbus vs Boeing: Who Handles Emergencies Smarter? When something goes wrong at 38,000 feet, the cockpit logic matters. Airbus uses ECAM—a fully interactive system that diagnoses the problem and feeds pilots a dynamic, real-time checklist. It tells you what’s happening, what to do, and what to monitor next. Boeing uses EICAS—a more traditional alerting system that prioritizes information and trusts the crew to manage the checklist manually. You get the data. You make the decisions. One assists. One advises. Two philosophies. Same mission: survive the failure. #aviation #avgeek #aviationphotography #aviationlovers #airplane #planespotting #boeing #instagramaviation #pilot #plane #aircraft #airport #instaaviation #aviationdaily #travel #airbus #instaplane #pilotlife #aviationgeek #flying #planespotter #flight #planes #aircraftsystems #ecam #eicas
ECAM is not the be all and end all. It CAN lead you down a path you may not want to go. So approach ECAM with caution. It’s great, but don’t get sucked into it. You’re the Captain, so be the Captain and assess the situation before committing to the ECAM procedure

Argument at 35,000 feet and the pitot tubes decide to fly you into the drink AND there is no argument left. Airbus wins. Airbus always wins.

Yall can’t say flying a Boeing aircraft is “real” piloting cause it’s still quite automated these days

Airbus for the followers, Boeing for the Thinkers.

Having flown both I can say Airbus is superior in every way.

True pilots know their jobs, but sometimes a split of second can make a difference . Why not get assisted? Airbus definitely

„Boeing keeps the pilots in charge.“ That‘s all I needed to hear.

Does it tell you how to turn the fuel back on?

that gets me wondering, would Sully land a Boeing on a Hudson river under same circumstances?

After 27 years of flying 1950’s through 2000 tech from HELOs to Airlines jets it’s not as black and white as you think. Bottom line a pilot needs to know the systems so they understand what their actions are going to do so they can prepare correctly for the many different scenarios that may occur. The learning never ends.

Airbus was formed in 1970 and had the opportunity to look at what Boeing had achieved and improve upon it. Both are world class organisations

Why would I need to be concerned about any of that? I would think the pilots would take care of all that

70%-80% of airplane accidents are due to human error. The more automation the safer.

plane crashes are due to human error, so I'll prefer the computer guide 😬

In a case like Air India 171 would ECAM have turned the fuel back on
