As a Cambodian, logically it would make no sense for us to start the war based on the disparity of military power between both countries. Keep in mind Cambodia also has an active ICJ case against Thailand, so planting those mines are also against our best interests.

It is true that Thailand have more military force but Cambodia is very good at spread information through social media and make people misunderstand that Cambodia is the victim. The tension and hate start long before this because Cambodia try to claim many thing that is Thai but they want to call it Cambodia such as Thai national costume , language , architecture , castle and even our Thai boxer! 😅 So this is not a war about military force. It is somthing else as you can see even when Cambodia start open fired , they rush to tell the world that they are not the one who start everything and blame it all to Thailand.They twisted the fact. For us Thai, war is not even in our mind because we focus on fixing our internal issue like politic and corruption. We try to move forward all the time. Claiming others country land is not what we do , we always avoid war. And as the information shows that we have more sky power so if Thais really want war , we can definitely can do it in a different way. Even when our soldier lost their legs from mine , we still stay put just untill our civilian die , we started to fight back to protect our country.

Thailand didn't start it.In every war, the injured and dead are soldiers and civilians, while the people who give the orders live a comfortable life. And the worst thing is that the Cambodian side shot at the hospital. This hospital used to treat people from both sides. They came to treat them with the tax money of the Thai people. And they violated the Geneva Convention. The person who ordered the shooting didn't even think about his own people. And how many more Thai people have to die because of the Cambodian leader's greed for power?

as Thai people, I think there's one good theory about reason of conflict escalation, it's internal politics of Cambodia, when government seems to lose control. they'll start conflict with Thailand to boost nationalism. it was done before in 2008 and do it again today

Under their orders, Cambodian troops indiscriminately fired weapons into Thailand, showing no regard for the safety of civilians. The brutality of these attacks caused widespread panic among Thai citizens, resulting in casualties and forcing schoolchildren to flee for their lives. Cambodia’s leadership Hun Sen and Hun Manet has shown a complete lack of true leadership.
