This was one of the best free events I’ve ever been to in the UK – and yes, everyone keeps asking: “Is it really free to attend?” So here’s everything you need to know before heading to the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta! 🎈 I attended this amazing event last year as an influencer, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the most memorable experiences of the summer. ✅ Yes, the event is free to attend! However, since it’s run by a not-for-profit organisation, they do charge for parking to help cover operational costs. 📍 Where & When This year’s event takes place from 8–10 August at Ashton Court, Bristol. 🌅 What to Expect There are two mass ascents each day – one at 6 AM and another at 6 PM (weather permitting). ✨ My personal highlight? The Night Glow – a magical event at 9 PM where balloons light up in sync with music. As a regular visitor, you’ll watch it from the public viewing areas, but… 🎟️ Want to get closer? You can buy Night Glow Launch Site Access tickets (around £80 for adults) for a VIP view. 🎈 Hot Air Balloon Rides? These aren’t available to the general public during the event. I had the chance to go up because of my influencer partnership, but for most visitors, it’s all about enjoying the view from the ground – and trust me, it’s still incredible! It’s hard to predict exactly where the balloons will fly, as it all depends on the weather and wind direction. On the first day, I saw them near the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and on the second day, I was in Bristol city centre and could still see them floating across the sky. The organisers carefully monitor the weather before deciding the flight path—but if you’re in Bristol during the event, you’re almost guaranteed to catch a glimpse of the balloons. #uktravel #bristol #thingstodo #hotairballoon #fyp
