I just got told by a “physician” on another video all we do as pharmacist is make sure doses are correct and dispense, we shouldn’t have the tittle “doctor” because to her doctor is a career. I nearly had a stroke

I don’t think people realize how often doctors don’t talk to other doctors. Doctors prescribe them properly. Doctors miss dose. I used to work with a clinical pharmacy that was attached to Coumadin clinic— you’d be amazed how often the dose was wrong.

Pharmacists have saved my bacon on more than one occasion. I went months with major dangerous side effects from Topamax. Dr's wouldn't tell me anything. I finally thought to ask my pharmacist who advocated for me and we were able to discontinue the med with proper tapering.

Too many people think the only people allowed the title of Doctor are MD physician doctors. Every personal with a doctorate in their field is still a doctor. It’s similar to the “it’s only a tHeOrY” folks who are dismissive towards capital T scientific Theories, as if the Theories of Relativity, Gravity, and Evolution aren’t backed by peer reviewed consensus with challenges by those peers in those fields being more about tweaking finer details, not complete refutation.

Most doctors prescribe the same set of 6-10 meds all the time. They do have near the pharmacology knowledge of a pharmacist, it is a total afterthought for most. Pharmacists are essential

The information pharmacists have to keep up is incredible. I work in clinical research and I see how quickly things can change with medications and I’m glad we have people whose whole role is to watch those things. There’s no way doctors could do it effectively on their own. Pharmacists are ESSENTIAL to patient care, no matter where they show up in the patient’s treatment journey.
