She was muscling every pitch — shoulder high, tight grip, zero flow. But that’s normal for beginners. Why? Because no one ever taught them what “loose” actually feels like. So we reset. I brought her back to my go-to — the Boomerang Drill — where the arm swings back and forth like a noodle, building rhythm, feeling connection, and learning to trust the snap, not force it. At first, she pulled up with her shoulder, trying to throw the ball with power… instead of learning how power travels from the ground through her trunk to her fingertips. That’s why this matters: 👉 We don’t just teach pitching mechanics. 👉 We teach awareness — what muscles to feel, what positions to trust, and how to let the body move. This isn’t about forcing the ball. It’s about feeling it flow. Start with a long arm. Lead with the elbow. Snap with the fingers, wrist, and forearm — even if you don’t talk about pronation yet. If you want a strong pitcher, you need a loose arm. And if you want that loose arm, you have to start with the right feel. That’s what Peyton and I are working on — building rhythm, building awareness, and building belief. You can’t feel your body if you’ve never seen it move. That’s why I always say: See it. Feel it.
