Financially...college is a scam. ..but intellectually...you get what you make of it. Learn and actually remember what's been taught. Widen your life perspective of reality by meeting different types of people who had a very different past than you...that's priceless

You can’t afford to pay for college in cash, and your parents make too much money to get grants, so you have to take out loans. When you’re finished with your degree and you try to step into the workforce you won’t be able to find a job. If you’re young in this country you either have to be lucky, wealthy, or do manual labor for 40 hours a week just to scrape by. Houses are unattainable and rents are too high. Most people are either leaving the country, living with their parents, or in crippling debt. According to GDP data we’re the wealthiest country in the world, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it. Finland doesn’t make as much money as we do, but has a better standard of living. We’re living in a nation held together by duct tape. An economy propped up by money that doesn’t exist and the ultra wealthy.

People need to do more research; you don’t just go to college blindly without knowing whether your job is needed or not. I also don’t understand why people go to expensive universities when community college offer the same education while it’s way cheaper. But yeah trades are also nice. They just seem like harsher work settings and more physical labor.

Everyone shoves college down young people’s throat. No one in high school suggests trade school. It’s looked down on. When it should be the standard because truthfully it is the standard of what most people are capable of.

I enjoyed university and I got my degree with 0% debt. Would I do it again? No, I wouldn’t. Education isn’t a scam, but college is. It’s gotten so expensive for no reason.

Yes. I have a masters degree in computer science. Started at $140k 2 weeks after graduation. 15 years later today I make $377k a yr at a federal job. I'm debt free. Best thing I've done.

maybe if our minds weren’t filled by all these lies about how life would be after college, maybe then it would be worth it. a lot of people grew up with people telling them that they have to go to college to make a living in life and that you can even have the best life if you choose a hard degree and work hard. I have graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science from a great school and it hasn’t helped me much. I have my current job because of my prior 2 years of IT experience from college. Thankfully some businesses understand and will allow you to move up later on since you have a degree. But other than that, it’s rough out there.

It’s only worth if you get a doctorate. I have a BA, and I’m not making money. My mother has 4 degrees highest being an MA and she not making any money.
