@dannabrookebennett: This single mama is not sure what day we are on but we need to get all the essentials packed up and semi organized for my newly diagnosed T1D daughter. My kitchen counter has stuff everywhere. This app & T1D community has been amazing so far. My brain is mush but I've learned SO much just from this app. Im grateful for you all. Keep sharing your journey. I hope to one day be able to help the next mama of a new onset t1d child. 🫶🏽 #t1d #diabetes #singlemamalife #diabetesawareness
It gets easier I recommed the tandem pumps they can be taken off for sport activities really easily. My daughter plays volleyball. But the level of control with the pump is amazing

Tip number one don’t look at the Libre needle. Tip number two it doesn’t hurt at all so just go for it.

God only chooses mamas that can handle it🥺❤️it may not be easy but he knows you can handle it. I often think of the moms who aren’t as caring as us and it makes me so sad for the kids

If you can get her a pump it will really help. It was expensive at first but we got half refunded. My two great nephews were diagnosed young . I was in my 40’s but we are all on the pump. If you can get some assistance it would be great. Unfortunately, not only is it hard to deal with it’s also expensive. I will pray for you. You got this!!

Get a referral to an endocrinologist for diabetes management, see about an insulin pump and a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) prefer the dexcom g6 over the 7.

Hi!! I feel for you all so deeply. I was diagnosed just a month ago at 21, and it’s definitely been scary at times. I recently transferred to Rutgers to play softball in the Big Ten, and my coaches and new teammates have been nothing but supportive. It is absolutely possible to keep playing and thriving with this illness, and we’re going to fight through it together. Sending lots of hugs and prayers 💛 this is a day by day illness but I already know she is going to thrive.

You’re amazing! You are doing everything you can and you are doing a great job. The mental load is a lot for all of us with diabetes or parents of diabetics. But all you can do is take it hour by hour then it’ll be day by day ❤️

Hey momma! I was diagnosed at 13yo (I’m 30 now). I went into urgent care for a the flu…turned out my BG was almost 1100! I spent a week in ICU. Ask all the questions!! We’re here to help! I was alone in my diagnosis. I didn’t have any family or friends my age with T1d. Technology has made this disease so much easier!! You got this! We didn’t have CGMs when I was diagnosed, I also had to beg for years for an insulin pump…those have also come a long way since then. I promise you it gets easier!

Let her know that most of the time CGM needles actually bend so although it stings when you insert it, you don’t feel it after the first pinch 🥰

Mom of 3 Type 1s here. 🙋🏼♀️It can be scary, but just like she started doing her shots on her own, she will get the CGM. The CGM is a game changer though. Join T1 social media groups. They are wonderful. Lots of info. You all got this! 💙💙💙
