I was baptized at 34 & I've never been judged so harshly by a group of people in my entire life! Literally called a liar for telling them my traumatic upbringing & then again when I fell ill. No sympathy, no compassion, just judgement. I left soon after & never looked back.

that's so real, girl! I wasn't raised in a church, but I started following God and so went to one. I left it couple years later convinces on not going back. Are the churched bad? maybe, I don't know. What I saw is exactly what you say: they are the first to judge you covered by fraternal love, with all the you do and you don'ts
