@jamie.homs: “Producer Howard Hughes felt guilty about his decisions regarding production, particularly over the decision to film at a hazardous site. He bought every print for $12 million and kept it out of circulation for many years until Universal Pictures purchased the film from his estate in 1979.” #movie #cancer #nuclear #movietok #fail

I generally love your videos. My quibble. The film didn’t nearly kill half the cast and crew. It killed nearly half. Note the reversed location of kill and nearly)

Oh yes, I know all about this movie. I actually read there was actually a book about this movie and how the cast of this movie all who participated in this movie including some really other famous movie stars like Agnes Morehead, who played in this movie that every one of them, including a lot of the crew contracted cancer Within about five years when they participated in this movie essentially, they filmed the movie down when of a nuclear bomb test that they were doing and the test went wrong and this is prior to the movie being filmed, and they were out on in this area that was not too far where the bomb had gone off and everything The ground everything that was in the movie was right active they even took sand and soil from where they filmed the movie and bought it into the studio so everything during the whole time that they were doing this movie where they were stepping was radioactive pointand Patrick Wang, which was one of the sons of John Wayne also was visiting the set where they were filming this movie and he also later contracted cancer fortunately, I believe it was not as serious as everybody else But everybody that was in this movie all died from cancer, probably caused by working on a set that was right active. And the people back then when they first started giving off the spot, didn’t realize the dangers of radioactivity so they essentially took the soil from the set out of the studio and buried it somewhere out and one of Their Out lying where they feel like little house on the Prairie television show and it’s somewhere buried out there where they feel mash and where they filmed a little house on the Prairie they don’t know where the soil went because there was no records kept. And it’s really interesting to me that a lot of the stories that filmed little house on the Prairie many of them died from cancer so to make a long story short, this was probably the worst maybe that was ever film that John Wayne was in and it had repercussions years later I still don’t know where the soil is. That is still radioactive today.

Hey Bim :
For context, the nuke tests were normally staged during weather conditions that would ensure the fallout did not reach that area of Utah. On the test in question, the wind shifted unexpectedly and the cloud was carried into Utah. The scientists knew the danger, that's why they tried to avoid it. But when it happened, the govt played it down.
