As a Palestinian at a meeting of mainly Jewish people, I said I’d had an epiphany - when I talk about the suffering of last 77 years, Jewish people don’t hear me because they only hear their own suffering. This makes it really difficult for our liberation because we did not cause your suffering yet they make us pay for it. Thank you for giving me some background and depth

I think this applies to non-jews too. As a young person, I also thought the term Holocaust was specifically related to Jewish people.

I took Canadian history in high school. No mention of systemic annihilation of the native culture by removing children from their families put into Catholic concentration camps where many died and placed in unmarked graves. No mention of the land that was taken from these indigenous people. No mention of diseases inflicted on them with a 90% death rate.

Hey so just FYI it's everywhere. I live on a reservation and nor once did we learn about our own. But every year from kindergarten we learned something about the holocaust. Me and friend have talked about it. And it's hurtful. thanks for speaking up.

I mean this with absolute respect because you are so open with these discussions, do you believe it is because the atrocities happened in Europe to Europeans. We, as a broader society, don’t focus on other genocides and I’ve always wondered if this is the reason. White exceptionalism, that European life is more valuable.
