@malloryjpage: The three deficits that cause food noise are: 1. Physical Deficit - which occurs when you are not getting in enough nourishment for your body to feel biological satisfied. Can be done purposely by eating too little or unintentionally. 2. Mental Deficit - happens when you aren’t eating what you want when you want it. Likely because you worry the food is unhealthy or you’ll lose control around it. 3. Emotional Deficit - occurs when you use food to take away or bring you certain emotion. This shows up as emotional eating, eating for dopamine, avoiding feelings by controlling food. All three of these must be addressed to work through food noise (and they can be sneaky) otherwise it will continue to linger.
