I used to drive for Uber, mostly at night, and more often than not, when I picked up a female passenger, her first comment was, “I’m so glad you’re a woman.” Many of them shared stories about being inappropriately propositioned by male drivers. I’ve heard even worse from other female passengers. But as a female driver, I was frequently hit on by male passengers. I never really understood it—most of the time, they couldn’t even see me clearly. It felt like they were hitting on me just because they knew I was a woman.

Thousands of women are being SA'd by male Uber drivers and we just want to be safe! Man responds with "let men request to avoid being paired with women" bc his feefees are all butthurt. NOT because women drivers are unsafe and are SA'ing men. 🙄 Just doesn't want to be paired with women drivers in retaliation to our VALID safety concerns.

I drive Uber and many times I pick up men who are using a female's account. They could use this 2 intentionally get a female. We could refuse 2 pick up & report it, though.

I am not sure if it’s international, but Bolt is already doing it where I am. We are all still alive. I’m having significantly fewer problems with drivers trying to take me a weird route, sharing their romantic habits with me, or going off at me as if I owe them something when I do not know the best path to somewhere
