What nursing shortage, I got laid off from my nursing job, went to a job fair then I saw a lot of applicants looking for a nursing job and they’re not even hiring they just take your resume and you won’t even get a call from them. Hospitals are laying off workers here in California. Plus nursing is overrated, the job will drain you physically and emotionally.

There’s a shortage of experienced floor nurses. My students, I alway tell them to look that next job bcs your back and knees won’t last forever specially if you work the floor.

My local community college just removed the A&P pre-req for their LPN program…. I feel like this is necessary education to have lol

And then the first day they pride themselves with the “only 20% of this entire class will actually make it” instead of actually instructing/teaching the next generation because of some archaic thought that “I had it tough by nurse ratchet so I’ll be your nurse ratchet”

Idk where that info is true. My program I got auto enrolled for BSN started right away. And had a job by the time I passed NCLEX. 1.5 months post graduation.

There is a shortage of seats for students in nursing programs. This is because doctoral prepared nurses are paid poorly in academia. I was offered a full-time faculty position and would have needed to take about a $30k pay cut from my hospital position.

I made the decision to apply for the nursing program, right before the last month that all of my prerequisites for BIO courses would have expired and I am in the Program now. Wish me luck. 🙏

my school uses the lottery system, meaning it's kinda like hunger games, with each year you get a higher and higher chance of getting in😀 application periods happen twice a year.. it took me 5 tries😭
