Cars cause a majority of truck accidents. Stop regulating the one industry this country relies on the most. If you want to make the highways safer go after the training programs that dont teach anything. That includes mega carriers, they are the problem.

as a truck driver, there's no reason to need to go above 65, especially if you're loaded. the 4 wheelers are going to be unsafe all day, no need for us to have to be even more reactive at higher speeds. you don't save any time by going faster just FYI.

Mandate more automation inside the truck. Auto braking, lane departure control. More systems to monitor air pressures etc. give driver more a systems manager job than a driver.

its not the speed, its irresponsible and undertrained new drivers in the industry..They made it too easy for anyone to obtain a cdl without any experience at all..Safety wouldn't be a issue but the industry is cheap, and treats drivers and owners like shit.
