I think it’s fine they kept it as Nereid Av-238 St since people will somehow confuse it with 238 St on the 1 line. The 5 to Nereid should be extended to run express to Gun Hill Rd then local. They always meet with the 2 at E 180 St causing delays

it's kind of like how stations on the (7) in Queens still have their historical name like 46-Bliss, 52-Lincoln, 33-Rawson

It’s good they kept east 238. Cause 238 on the 1 and 2 are 2 completely different places!!

Growing up it was Neried when I was using my orange and green student metro card. But I still knew it as 238 because it was the special diamond 5 with the red birds. And it would show that. I never made the connecting with 238 on the 1 line. Since I grew up in the north east Bronx but I love that there I a connections. Learn something new everyday

I call it 238th I live on the white plains rd 2 and 5 line and I prefer 238th street nereid is just being extra lol

I am from this area of the Bronx and call it both. If I’m on the 2 sometimes and am goin to number streets on white plains rd. But if I’m transferring to nereid I’ll call it nereid
