@matthewscandice: Take a look at the 89th Texas Legislative session. Some of these legislators have utterly failed to represent the communities that entrusted them with power. Last night’s Texas Legislative Black Caucus Zoom call was embarrassingly inadequate. It was asinine. Piss poor. Lackluster. Essentially, it was a performance with no plan—and we were watching. While our communities are facing racially motivated redistricting—erasing our political voice—you held a virtual meeting. But there was zero urgency, zero strategy, zero backbone. Just platitudes and posturing. This isn’t representation—it’s a betrayal. We don’t owe you our support anymore, because you haven’t earned it. If you’re not actively defending Black, Brown, and marginalized communities from political erasure—you are complicit. And we’re not staying silent. Here’s the plain truth: You will not be walking into the 90th Legislative Session on our goodwill. Not because of gerrymandering—because the people are putting you on notice. We’re organizing, mobilizing, and PRIMARYING. Either you stand up and fight, or you’re out of the way.
