now, are these designs actually 'lazy' in that they didn't put any effort or thought into the design? or did they just not change much? and colors serve purpose in designs, especially in steelix's case, because the rocks turn from steel into magnets and crystal. This totally amps up steelix conceptually and it also looks great. An effective design change using mostly just color and pattern

The reason Absol has wings is that as a normal pokemon, Absol's job is to warn against danger/disasters, which got it a bad rap. People think it brings bad luck because it shows up when bad stuff happens it it is actually showing up to warn and save people. Guardian Angel.

I understand what you're saying. with regards to the fact that it's not supposed to be an extra evolution, it's just supposed to be the final stage of the pokémon with extra stuff on it but going and looking at other mega evolutions I'm noticing a odd separation between old ones and new ones, especially with Dragonite because Dragonite didn't have any angel-like wings on his head. yes there are some that add features like I can't remember how to spell it but the gem-eyed pokémon has a gem shield. it would have just been better if they would have made his normal wings angelic and gave him him a longer tail

people really ain't seen megas in 7 years and forgot how meh most of them were deisgn wise. and honestly? I think a sceptile is almost entirely carried by facing away from the camera. it's just an angle we don't normally see. if it was front facing you could barely tell the difference

Okay, looking at it now, you could tell me that mega Absol is just a female version of an Absol while regular Absol is the male version and I would believe you, they look like gender, different Pokémon side by side.

I honestly think that the promotional image is a big reason people don’t like it. The dimensions look weird and off in it and I really didn’t like it at all until I saw the actual 3D model and now it’s fine. I’d put it in B-tier as far as Megas go

No pokemon mega is lazy, they all have specific designs to go with their dex entry’s/their primal forms. Mega Aerodactyol only adds the rock spikes because that’s how it used to look before it became a fossil.

I'm more dissapointed that battle bond was removed, and also that only 1 unova pokemon got a mega evolution, and it's fucking audino, not haxorus, or braviary, but audino. and also they better make the gen two mega starters straight gas

I just think base Dragonite is a flawed design in the sense that it doesnt really fit with his previous evolutions (which is the case for a lot of pokemons, true). The wings is an attempt to bring back that connection, and I like the idea, but since Dragonite is so bottom heavy, with legs , the silhouette just kinda looks weird. I think some of the exemples you called lazy look better than this one.
