I think the reason why its being taken outside is to show how dangerous the animatronics are to not just the main characters but also to the people of the town.

In the books titled the silver eyes and the twisted ones, the animatronics leave the pizzeria. There’s actually quite a few evidence in the books that the animatronic leave the pizzeria so I have no problem with them taking it outside.
