As a teenager, searching for jobs, I need to be able to communicate to my coworkers and my boss. The government isn’t realising that we aren’t just “addicted to social media”. It’s playing such a huge role in our lives and they don’t realise how much this will actually impact people. People are going to find a way around it and figure out how to log back in so I don’t know what they’re thinking honestly. If I’m allowed to get a job, get paid, learn to DRIVE, I should be allowed to scroll through instagram. I think it should be up to the parents.

As a 15 year old WITH A JOB this is actually unbelievable as I rely on Facebook to keep in contact with my manager to let her know if I will be coming late to work or unavailable. And being 15 I am not able to have her phone number how else will I be able to contact my manager now!!

Except kids will easily be able to bypass it by using a VPN. This is not about child safety, it is about data. You will be required to tie your real identity to your social media accounts. This is not just a privacy risk, it’s also a security risk. Leaks happen all the time. How can you trust that these companies will handle your data properly?
