Thank you! I reposted and also posted this on my facebook page. Here’s what I wrote: I am a 4th generation Texan and native Houstonian and I very strongly oppose any redistricting in and around my city, as well as anywhere in the great state of Texas that may favor the Republican Party. Every Texan regardless of where they live, deserve to have their voice heard. It is the one job of our representatives to serve us. It is our right as citizens of this republic to elect officials who reflect our ideals, share our morals, and represent our ideologies. If these representatives cannot align themselves with the needs and desires of the public which they serve, then those elected officials need to remove themselves from the occupation of public service, and NOT redraw district lines making it so the public cannot simply vote them out. We the people give them the power, not the other way around. If the republicans choose to move forward with their plans to gerrymander districts who have likely already been gerrymandered then they should prepare themselves for a FIGHT. Residents of this state will NOT stand for this. It’s unethical and it un-American.
