I'm in central Indiana and pir school system adopted this this year as well! the nurse can even send them home from school sick and it will be counted against them!! Go ahead and send me to court, I'm not sending a sick kid to school!

Homeschool sounds better and better every year 😭 I’m not mentally equipped for all that but I’m not going to court for SHIT. Kiss my 🍑 and my kids don’t deserve to be forced to be sick as hell at school or get sick from school.

We had truancy my daughters first year of school. Had a doctor's note every single time too. She had HFM, strept, the flu and it didnt matter.

2 years ago- 2 sick days, this past year 14 sick days. All doctor excused- flu B (in March bc the flu shot he received in September was pretty much out of his system), 2 doses of pneumonia, strep and norovirus. Which time would they have liked me to send him?

Yeah last year they said my kids missed too many days because of the sick days. So now my kids will go to school sick unless they have diarrhea or throwing up. It is what it is

NJ doesn't accept doctors notes. it's been like this forever. then they send you to CPS/police/court then the notes matter

they want to trap parents and older kids into truancy court. that's money money money to the state. if I lived in Tennessee I would move Tennessee is so backwards. I'm in Michigan, where you can't send your kids to school sick and we have universal breakfast and lunch for public school kids. our kids can stay at home when there sick and not have to eat cheese sandwiches

if my kids are sick they won’t be at school til they are better. In Alabama the school my son went to told me tardy is good enough for them to go for truancy as well. I know it’s different in every state but I’d check into it

I think this is going to back fire on them because once one gets sick they will all get sick and then you’ll have kids that are sick and want to sleep so they will not be able to pay attention in class. This is sad and I’m glad I don’t live in Tennessee.

They started this crap a couple of years ago in my town. They don’t get the funding if the kid isn’t in the seat. My state is now 50th in education😳. My kid now uses Acellus homeschool which is accredited and her first year she was accepted into NJHS which never would of happened in public school

They aren’t gonna be able to focus if they are sick! Schools are just money hungry nowadays. They don’t care about the kids. they just want a butt in the seat so they can get their money
