@feebs15: Cooking with Mom! (Except my mom is an urn) Making her famous Uncle Roy Pickles! I thought this would be a funny little series to start. Cooking with mom using my moms cookbook except my mom is an urn 😂 this is mostly entertainment for my family and friends, but would love if you followed along! My mom passed away unexpectedly from a stroke in October of 2023. My sister took her cookbook as it was a gift to our mom for her marriage to my sisters dad in 1980. My sister duplicated the cookbook for me as a Christmas gift- truly one of the best gifts ever. The story behind the pickles- Uncle Roy is actually my moms dad, my grandpa. He passed when I was 3. These pickles were always a hit and never hardly lasted through the summer. Family members always requested these pickles. My mom would either mail them out or they were Christmas gifts. During retirement, she grew an even bigger garden so she could start selling her canned goods and fried pies at the Petit Jean Farmer’s Market in Arkansas. She would always say her pickles were famous in a tricounty area.
