@connectwithgrowth: Just because it’s ‘’educational’’ doesn’t mean it’s safe for your child’s brain. Speaker: Daniel Amen #mindfulparenting #screensandkids #childdevelopment
I’m an elder genX and I think this “no screens” movement is going to stunt a lot of children. I am far from a conspiracy theorist or believer, BUT it is almost like they’re trying to reign in what future young Americans are capable of. The children exposed to the many wonders of the internet are going to be far more technologically advanced once they hit school age. Sounds like this movement comes from a place of fear.

We followed this advice. It’s not great. She’s extremely behind her peers that all watch screens. It’s based on the science that synapses are being fired in their brains too rapidly at early age which I was sold on. But she’s 2 now and we started screens a month ago. Her learning now is 100000% better tbh

I grew up in the 90s and had screens, video games and tv and things and im not addicted or have problems or anything ? In 2025 its literally impossible to avoid screens! Your car has a screen in it! Your watch! Your phone, everyone has at least 1 or 2 tvs, a laptop or computer! The world and future revolves arround screens! How are they supposed to avoid that ?

Miss Rachel is doing exactly what a mom should be doing.. they don’t need to watch tv if you’re doing your job

People like him must give alternatives (instead of a bit of screen time) for parents who rely on screentime to so household chores or stuff around rather than just saying stop screentime. Especially for velcro and fomo babies/kids. Life out here is tough. You guys should help, instead of making us feel miserable parents by letting our kids some screentime.💯

my baby is 5 months old and we do NO SCREENS!! My baby doesn't cry unless he is hungry or tired. He does soo good when it comes to entertaining himself, literally anything entertains him. And it's hard I'm not going to lie but it takes team work!

But can you explain specifically why the screens are bad please what are the side affects? If the child is articulate, outdoorsy, social, well behaved … WHY is (a little) screen time “bad”…? Specifically?

My Son is 2 years and 4 month old, watches construction sites videos and is far behind the kids in his age. He speaks full sentences in german and also understand a bit english and italian. He only plays with older kids, but they often thinks he's too little to play with. I know screentime is bad. But I really don't have anyone who can watch him for a sec. He can play by himself, but he also is very interested in dangerous things which is why I have to constantly watch him 😭 so screen time is my only break

My daughter is 18 months old and watches Miss Rachel. She started talking at 9 months, and now she’s trying to say full sentences like ‘I want more milk’ and similar things. I haven’t seen anything negative about kids watching TV, as long as you control the screen time and make sure they’re watching the right content.
