brother if I could could give all my knowledge and wisdom as an operating engineer to a young person I would right now and then I could retire. over 30 years in this I'm done i have showed so many so much already but I started early so the government wont let me go till im 59 and a half. at 52 im counting the days. 55 should be the retirement age for construction workers period.

These are great points. Many people, even Union members, have misconceptions about what Unions are. Unions are not an organization with officers and administrators, Unions are you and your coworkers. The union is when you keep extra copies of your contract to give out to new apprentices and teach the ways of our trade.

convenient for the older workers closer to retirement have all these younger guys paying into the retirement programs just so as history shows most won't make it to theirs in same place or existing union company be like social security everyone paid into entire careers for the to change the rules to keep working till 70 unions full of very good mechanics work slow as possible si they get the double triple overtime near end date usually on prevailing wage jobs so they making 150 hour then blame everyone else
