Happed to me a few times living in NC as a 💅 man, but this one old blac* lady said something nice but odd at the same time, she asked why I wasn’t married and I said cause I’m gay and she said “honey oh that’s a darn shame and a waste, oh baby not that you are 💅 is a waste, it’s that you won’t be passing on your beautiful looks” and she walked away, I guess it was a compliment 🤔🤔🤔

I use a nickname as my first name (legally changed it to that) and on a couple or so occasions I've had an old lady ask me what my "real" name, and they usually have sputter for a moment and say that's not a real name, and aks what is my christian name was. The first time this happened is said that is my real legal name and I'm not a christian. I thought she was gonna blow a blood vessel in her eye. And yes this was in the south and in a grocery store and I was just minding my own business and she inserted herself.
