SKIN-THE-CAT part 2️⃣: Practising on BARS 💪🏼☺️ After you have successfully worked on your new skill on rings, I highly recommend taking your training to the bar, which will make the movement a little harder at first but it will also hone your skill and make you stronger. 😎 ❌ Obstacle no.1 - Cannot get feet past the bar upon entry to skin the cat.  ✅ Solution: Cross your ankles to fit your bent legs through. As a brand new beginner, you are also welcome to hook your feet behind the bar to give yourself a little leg up, literally. As long as you replace this with an actual pull over time since the entry is half of the actual move. ☺️ ❌Obstacle no.2 - Ankles or shoes keep getting stuck behind the bar upon return from German Hang.  ✅ Solution - Whether you’re in a tight tuck or are using the straight leg technique, ensure that you start to drop your hips the moment they have passed by your arms on the way back. Also point your toes and you’ll be able to glide past the bar with ease.  ❓Potential obstacle no.3 - Don’t yet have the strength to lift yourself up to the bar to enter the skill.  ✅ Work on ice cream makers (as demonstrated in the video), plus knee raises and tuck hangs in a bent arm position to build up your core and shoulder strength to “buy” time in order to climb or lift yourself into position.  ❇️ Bonus tip: if you are not yet fully confident in your ability to hang for long or whether you can complete the full spin and return, I suggest working on lower bars to begin with. A shoulder height bar will allow you to touch your feet down halfway through the skill in case you’re too tired to return.
