The white guy was someone, I knew and he has a name. He was the innocent in all of this, a big heart, a pure soul. He didn’t deserve any of this. Stop the speculation, the hate, the judging in comments surrounding all these types of videos it’s sickening. Clean your hearts, make duas, ask Allah to forgive those boys. Remember, Allah sees all, even these twisted comments, you all will have to answer to him one day.

as a taxi driver iv tried so many times telling the young ones what you doing man don't do these balloons i even called out the shop were they buy them from ...but nothing as a community we need to start with these 24hour shops .....who actually sell these balloons ....this needs to stop ...

Our community needs to stop saving money to build houses back home and spend it on educating the children. Involve your children in positive activities and keep their minds occupied in adventures that are amsafe and monitored… such sad incidents every other week! May Allah guide our youth

So much pointless blame going around in these comments, the fact of the matter is, people are influenced by those they surround themselves with, in general there were clearly not enough influential people in these lads lives to step in and deter what had happened. There is also an underlying “let boys be boys” mentality amongst the Asian community which feeds into lack of accountability, where there is lack of accountability there is lack of self awareness. There needs to be a collective effort to change the narrative and educate on this matter otherwise we are going to see the same thing continue unchecked. Conversations need to be had, sanctions made, lessons need to be introduced. I’ve heard about 4 incidences involving balloons this week alone and it is absolutely sickening. It’s heartbreaking and really saddening! When young lives are lost in such circumstances, it shakes us! It brings a mix of grief, anger, frustration & reflection. But, I'm not liking some of the judgmental comments being made, especially those blaming the parents. Please, take a moment to reflect. Imagine the pain these parents are going through. May Allah grant them patience and strength. This is not a time to assign blame, but a time for compassion, reflection & prayer. We don’t know the parents circumstances, their struggles or their efforts. Parenting is not easy, and parents usually try their best with what they have. Instead of pointing fingers, let us take this as a powerful reminder to focus on our own flaws and responsibilities. To become better role models, prepare to be better parents & better members of our communities. Let this be a wake up call! To support our youth, to create safe spaces in our mosques and communities. And to raise awareness in ways that are full of wisdom & mercy, not shame! Make dua for the boys, for their grieving family & for ourselves and our offspring. May Allah guide, protect & forgive us all. Ameen.
